Iran: The risk is renewed strikes, not a new attack yet.

· The war began with joint US-Israeli strikes on Feb 28, and a ceasefire followed on April 8.

· The US and Israel have reportedly drawn up plans for renewed strikes after the November 3 midterms, described as a short, intense operation.

· Axios reports Netanyahu pressed Trump to resume the war after the midterms, while Trump wants negotiations to get a chance and is undecided.

· Diplomacy is still running. Iranian negotiators met Qatari mediators in Doha for a third day, and Iran says it received a Vance letter.

· Iran has threatened data centers and underwater internet cables in the Gulf if strikes resume.

Binance: a big but contained shock

· On Oct 29 about $6.36B was moved out of Binance wallets across ten blockchains, which TRM attributes to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group, and the FBI has since confirmed North Korea was behind it.

· Around $3B has been frozen, Binance says it will cover all losses, and Fundstrat sees no meaningful solvency risk.

· The breach was on the offshore platform. Binance’s regulated US exchange wasn’t affected.

· Market impact was a liquidity and sentiment hit, not systemic. BTC briefly fell to about $76,650, a six-week low, and roughly $628M of mostly long positions were liquidated.

· Watch the BTC held by the attacker, which can’t be frozen the way stablecoins can. The first outbound move from those wallets will show the laundering route.

Macro read for XAUUSD

Gold has changed regime. On Feb 28 the strikes sent gold up about $200 in hours, to roughly $5,300. Now gold is near $3,900.

· Gold plunged 3.5% on Friday to a one-year low, with forced selling during a tech stock crash, higher oil, and a hawkish Fed behind the drop.

· The Fed held at 3.75-4.00% with two officials voting for a hike, and markets price about a 75% chance of a December hike.

· The chain now runs: oil up, then inflation and hike bets up, then real yields and USD up, then gold down. An earlier escalation fits this. Gold slid over 2% when Trump vowed to intensify attacks, as the dollar and oil surged and rate-hike fears grew.

· Monday’s bounce confirms it. WTI fell about 3% to near $101 and Brent about 2.7% to near $110 on diplomacy hopes, and gold rose with them.

How this might play out (my read, not a forecast):

· Strikes resume: oil spikes, firms hike pricing, and the dollar may bid. Gold could drop first and only rally if the shock turns into growth or financial stress.

· A deal or extended talks: oil falls, yields ease, and gold likely recovers.

· Binance: probably adds only a short-term liquidity drag on risk assets unless the stolen BTC or contagion becomes a story.

Calendar and levels:

· Monday ISM, Tuesday midterms, and Friday NFP all land this week.

· Reference levels are $3,830 downside and $4,025 upside. Friday’s swing low is around $3,870.

· Kitco’s survey has 63% of Wall Street analysts expecting lower prices this week, with retail leaning the other way.
